Crossroads in the community

Crossroads was founded as a church for the community of Norwalk and the surrounding area. That means we desire to be a force for God in our community, not just a place where members gather. We do this by actively supporting several worthy local causes that lend aid to those in need while spreading the Good News of the Gospel.

Take a look below to find out how Crossroads Church makes a difference in our community

– and how you can join us in this effort!

Norwalk Area Ministerial Association

As part of the Norwalk Area Ministerial Association (NAMA), Crossroads Church collaborates with other local churches to help provide financial and physical assistance to the less fortunate for basic needs such as food, shelter, clothing, gasoline, and electricity.

We do this in two ways:

  1. Through direct distribution of funds. NAMA raises funds throughout the year via a spaghetti dinner, a golf outing, and other activities. Using established guidelines, the association then responsibly provides money to the needy on a case-by-case basis.
  2. By working with local agencies. NAMA has established relationships with agencies such as The Salvation Army, the Norwalk Food Pantry, the Impact Community Action Partnership, and others. Working with these agencies, NAMA helps provide ongoing assistance for persons and families in need.

How you can help

  • Participate in the NAMA annual golf outing, normally held in September.
  • Have lunch with us at the annual NAMA Spaghetti Dinner.
  • Donate to various fundraising activities such as our winter coat drive or our Adopt-A-Family program at Christmas.
  • Volunteer to work with people in need.
  • Pray for our efforts.

The A.C.T.S. Network

Area Churches Together Serving, also known as the A.C.T.S. Network, is an interdenominational group of Norwalk churches that have a focus on evangelism, which is the spreading of the Gospel by preaching or personal witness. Churches in the A.C.T.S. Network have signed a document called The Lausanne Covenant, which outlines 15 principles of our Christian faith, including the purpose of God, the authority and power of the Bible, the nature of Jesus Christ, and others. These churches have entered into a solemn covenant with God and with each other to pray, to plan and to work together for the evangelization of all people in the Norwalk area.

Pastors and staff from the A.C.T.S. Network meet weekly to plan, pray and support one another. The Network consists of the following Norwalk churches:

  • Crossroads Church
  • Fellowship Christian Church
  • Norwalk United Methodist Church
  • First Baptist Church of Norwalk

A.C.T.S. Network churches work to spread the Gospel through a number of functions, including a combined worship service held annually, a 4th of July outreach event, and others.

How you can help

  • Come to the annual combined A.C.T.S. service, and volunteer to help if you are able.
  • Have fun at our 4th of July event, held at the Norwalk City Park. We always need volunteers and would welcome your help.
